Tim Szczepaniak-Town Council
Tim Szczepaniak - A husband, father to two terrific daughters, Lauren (8) and Carly (4), and a Ballston homeowner who will preserve, protect and improve Ballston’s quality of life. Tim firmly believes in safeguarding open space, opposes overdevelopment, wants to continue no Town Tax, Open Up Town Government and work for Positive Change. Tim is seeking the opportunity to serve on our Town Council and would like the chance to earn your vote on Tuesday, November 6
Tim is a graduate of Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vt. where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Manangement. He was a Police Officer in Bennington for seven years before he moved to Saratoga County twenty years ago. Tim has been employed by Lockheed Martin Corporation (Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory) for same amount of years where he is currently a Supervisor for Supply Chain Management.
As nearly anyone who’s lived here for awhile knows, Ballston today is far different than it was just several years ago. Because our Town is such a great place to live, more people have chosen to live here. More people means more homes. More homes means more growth. More growth means a genuine need to protect remaining Open Spaces and quality of life.
Tim wants to preserve Ballston’s rural, small town charm while remaining open to new opportunities that will make our Town better. Some have suggested a moratorium on growth. Tim thinks a moratorium is a lot like a crash diet: it seems to work initially, but as soon as you go off it, the weight comes right back — and then some.
Instead, Tim thinks the real answer — an honest answer — is that our Town needs responsible growth. What exactly is that? It’s precisely what it sounds like: growth that’s carefully considered, planned, zoned and compatible with the Town’s character and comprehensive plan.
Tim Szczepaniak is his own man and unafraid to work for positive change, and if it means standing up to the powers that be, so be it. Tim is a dedicated, loving father who dotes on his children and wants to make sure they along with every other Ballston resident have the same chances and opportunities to live in a wonderful Ballston community.
