Harold Townley-Supervisor
Harold Townley has served the Town of Ballston as a Councilman for 28 years — 20 years as deputy town supervisor. He has served his community not only as a member of town government but as a business owner.
During Harold Townley’s tenure on the Council, Ballston has flourished. Currently without a town tax, the town is run in a fiscally responsible manner. In recent years the Veterans Bike Path has been established, the Ballston Lake fishing pier built, a new library constructed and the addition to Town Hall has been accomplished.
Harold Townley is a life long resident of the town of Ballston and a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. Mr. Townley served two years in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he attended and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College. For thirty four years he has served the families of the community as a funeral director.
The Townley family has played an active role in the community over the years. Harold has been a volunteer coach for children’s sports and has supported many programs at BHBL and Ballston Spa school districts. He has also worked at Clover Patch, a community camp for handicapped children. Harold has also been a member of the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Rotary Club.
Helping people is a part of Harold’s families way of life. His mother and father both volunteered for Rotary, school board, ambulance squad, and many other groups. Harold Townley believes that helping people in the town has been rewarding and would like to continue by serving as Ballston’s Town Supervisor.
“I believe in keeping Ballston a great place to live with low taxes, open space, and controlled growth. As a councilman for 28 years I have tried to keep the Town of Ballston a great place to live and will continue to work to keep it great for future generations.” — Harold Townley
